The residential complex on Erfurter Ring in Ludwigshafen is a particularly good example of this. Here, general contractor Diringer & Scheidel, municipal housing association GAG Ludwigshafen and ratiotherm as system technology partner have created a highly efficient residential complex with 146 residential units, focusing on geothermal energy for energy generation.
Energy-efficient building renovation is an important factor in reducing CO2 emissions, saving heating costs and, above all, efficiently redesigning heating and energy concepts.
On the northern outskirts of Viernheim, in the popular new development area of Bannholzgraben II, green v is being built, a modern residential project consisting of a total of five buildings with 87 modern owner-occupied flats. The location is excellently chosen: surrounded by nature, close to the forest and yet with ideal connections to Mannheim, Heidelberg and Weinheim.
In most cases, the entire boiler room is renovated when a building’s heating system is refurbished. Typical renovation measures include replacing the boiler with a more efficient new unit, switching to renewable fuel sources, and installing solar thermal and fresh water technology.
In the immediate vicinity of Bielefeld Hospital, the latest generation of efficient heating technology from ratiotherm was installed as part of the modernization of an apartment building.
Our project partner was tasked with developing an energy concept for a retirement home in order to achieve significant energy cost savings. The heat demand was approximately 600,000 kWh, and there were three self-sufficient heating systems in the building complex, which had been expanded several times.
The task was to convert the heat generation system of an apartment building to use as much renewable energy as possible. The existing gas boiler will operate as a peak load boiler in the future system.
