What are PVT collectors?
Electricity and heat from a solar system? PVT collectors (photovoltaic-thermal collectors) make it possible. These solar hybrid collectors convert solar energy into both electricity and heat, combining solar thermal and photovoltaic technology in a single system. You can use the electricity for your heat pump or in your household to heat your home. PVT collectors are particularly practical if drilling into the ground for brine-water heat pumps is not permitted or there is no suitable location for an air-source heat pump.
PVT collectors – a gain for the future
Electricity is generated via photovoltaics (PV) and solar thermal (T) heat collection at the same time. The heat exchanger on the underside of the collector supplements the solar thermal heat collection with energy from the air and enables a heat pump to be supplied with heat even at night. PVT collectors offer a similar level of efficiency to geothermal heat pumps, but without the need for excavation work or probes. They also have the advantage of being silent and flexible in terms of installation on roofs or facades. These characteristics make PVT collectors an attractive energy source. Due to their high efficiency, coupling with geothermal probes or cistern storage tanks is not necessary, but would further increase the efficiency of such a system. The result is climate-friendly heating systems with low operating costs that generate their own electricity throughout the year.

AllQ from ratiotherm
AllQ from ratiotherm is an expansion module for the entire LoQ series. It extends the source-side temperature ranges up to +55°C (briefly even up to +70°C). The AllQ principle significantly expands the application range of LoQ heat pumps, namely on the source side from -15°C to +55°C. The corresponding software from our company also reliably regulates fluctuations in the source. This ensures ideal adaptation to PVT and other fluctuating sources such as hybrid solutions with solar thermal energy or waste heat.
