Energy concept for golf courses

Two French golf clubs decided to replace their existing fossil fuel heating systems and use the maximum possible amount of solar energy to generate the necessary heat energy. Our French partner was entrusted with the implementation of these two projects.

Harnessing regional advantages

The first of the two golf courses used a combination of a pellet boiler and a solar thermal system. The entire concept was supplemented by heat recovery from a food cooling system. All generators are connected to a large 10 m³ stratified storage tank, which intelligently organizes the heat quantities at different temperature levels. In addition, a 4-stage drinking water cascade with 400 kW heat output was installed to supply the entire building with hot water hygienically and efficiently. A central controller ensures the smooth interaction of generation and consumption.

In the second project, a solar thermal system was installed on the building next to the existing oil heating system. To protect the solar thermal system in the event of stagnation, a suitable cooler was installed to cool the return flow of the solar thermal system to the target temperature when necessary. As access to the boiler room was limited, the 3,700-liter stratified storage tank had to be brought into the room in individual parts and then welded on site. In addition, a 4-stage drinking water cascade with 400 kW heat output was installed to supply the entire building with hot water in a hygienic and efficient manner. A central controller ensures the smooth interaction of generation and consumption.
