Heating system replacement in a hotel

In order to reduce electricity and heating costs, a CHP unit was installed in a hotel in Bietigheim as part of a heating system modernization project. The hotel is connected to the local district heating supply, but the decision was made to also rely on its own energy supply.

Renovation tailored to requirements

A CHP unit generates electricity, which is used directly and as needed in the company’s own operations, while the excess heat is transferred to a stratified storage tank. An additional district heating transfer station allows the district heating or waste heat from the CHP unit to be used in combination or separately for heating and domestic hot water.

Since high flow rates were required, it was decided to install a 300 kW drinking water cascade. This ensures an efficient and hygienic hot water supply for the entire hotel. Two central controllers organize the generation and monitor the heat distribution throughout the building.
